We used the traditional regional names of Abkhazeti, rather than Abkhazia, the modern Russian translation of it, and Shida (inner) Kartli – the part of which during the period of the Soviet Union was framed by the boundaries of the South Ossetian Autonomous District”
Programme
The conference was the part of the wider project which aimed the raising of awareness of target as well as emphasizing the unity of history and culture of different regions of Georgia. Another activity of the project had been set up of traveling exhibition “Georgian Cultural Heritage – Abkhazeti and Shida Kartli”. follow the link for exhibition details.
