PRO EXTOUR aimed to foster sustainable tourism development within the Black Sea Basin (BSB) by promoting experiential tourism. This was achieved by valorizing indigenous heritage and culture, recognizing and showcasing the unique cultural richness of the region, driving innovation, encouraging the development and implementation of innovative tourism solutions as well as strengthening cross-border cooperation and facilitating collaboration between stakeholders across BSB countries.

Main Activities:
- Regional Needs Assessment: Conducted a comprehensive assessment to identify the specific needs and challenges related to the development of experiential tourism within the BSB.
- Regional Action Plan: Developed a strategic roadmap outlining key actions and initiatives to encourage the growth of heritage and culture-based experiential tourism across the region.
- Inventory of Business Models: Compiled and analyzed successful business models for experiential tourism, providing valuable insights for stakeholders.
- Pilot Inventories & Online Repository: Developed pilot inventories of heritage and cultural activities and events in selected BSB destinations.
- Created an online repository of resources, tools, and best practices for experiential tourism. International Events: Organized international events and workshops to facilitate knowledge exchange, networking, and capacity building among stakeholders.
- Cross-border Network: Established a network of Black Sea Hubs on Experiential Tourism to promote collaboration, information sharing, and joint initiatives across the region.
